Durood Shareef (also known as Durood Ibrahim or Salawat Ibrahimiyya) is a powerful invocation recited by Muslims to send peace and blessings upon the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and his family. It is an essential part of Salah (prayer) and is recited in the final sitting (Qa’dah Akhirah) after Tashahhud. Durood Sharif – The wordings for DUROOD SHAREEF [the blessings on the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)] that have been narrated in reports are many and various. This Durood Shareef is called Durood -e- Shafi ’i because Hadrat Imam Shafi’i (radi Allahu anhu) used to recite it constantly and he received glad tidings of Jannah in this world.
