Chitravel Vetrimaaran (born 4 September 1975) is an Indian film director, film producer and screenwriter who primarily works in Tamil cinema. He is known for his unique filmography with major commercial success and highly critically acclaimed body of work. Vetrimaaran is a director, screenwriter, and producer who predominantly works in the Kollywood film industry. As of 2016, Vetrimaaran has won 4 National awards and one Filmfare award. He made his directional debut through the movie Polladhavan, which was critically acclaimed. Vetrimaaran has played small roles in a few Tamil films like ‘Kadhal Virus’ (2002), ‘Jigarthanda’ (2014), and ‘Star’ (2024). He has directed a few Tamil films like ‘Aadukalam’ (2011), ‘Visaranai’ (2016), ‘Vada Chennai’ (2018), ‘Asuran’ (2019), and ‘Viduthalai Part 1’ (2023).
