Anand dighe: Was a follower of Shiv Sena founder
Anand Dighe was a follower of Shiv Sena founder Balasaheb Thackeray and the mentor of rebel leader Eknath Shinde. He began his political career in the Shiv Sena and became the president of the party’s Thane unit in 1984. Anand Dighe (27 January 1951 – 26 August 2001), popularly known as Dharmaveer or Dighe Saheb, was an Indian right-wing politician and social worker. Dighe was considered a powerful muscleman in Thane. [5] He was accused in the murder of Shiv Sena party member Sridhar Khopkar, who had allegedly voted for Congress in 1989. On this day, as we remember Anand Dighe , let us reflect on his contributions, his mentorship, and the complex legacy he left behind. Dharmaveer’s imprint on Maharashtra politics remains etched in history, a testament to the power of leadership and the enduring impact of a political maestro.
