Nasa astronaut Sunita Williams finally returned to Earth after her prolonged nine-month stay at the International Space Station. Her roots can be traced to the village of Jhulasan in Gujarat’s Mehsana, which is now celebrating her safe comeback with special prayers, yagnas and firecrackers. Williams’ father, Deepak Pandya, is of Indian origin, explaining her love for Indian food. She also carried a Ganesh idol with her during her mission Sunita Williams is an Indian-American astronaut who married Michael Williams, a retired federal marshal.
