Demon Slayer : Kimetsu no Yaiba Episode 1 : 1912. Family massacre. Sister Nezuko becomes a demon . Tanjiro's desperate journey begins. An anime adaptation of the manga series by Koyoharu Gotouge, following Tanjiro Kamado, a teenager who becomes a Demon Slayer after his family is killed by demons. The first season aired from April to September 2019 and has 26 episodes, with an English dub on Adult Swim's Toonami. After a demon attack leaves his family slain and his sister cursed, Tanjiro embarks upon a perilous journey to find a cure and avenge those he's lost. To pass the Final Selection, Tanjiro uses the techniques he learned from Sakonji Urokodaki and begins his fight against a demon on Mt. Fajikasane. There are only four swordsmen left come dawn of the seventh day and they are issued Demon Slayer Corps uniforms and messengers crows.
