During these nine days, secret rituals are performed, and devotees worship the ten forms of Goddess Durga. Aside from prakat Navratri (Chaitra and Shardiya Navratri), Hindus honor Maa Durga at two additional Navratris known as Gupt Navratri. Gupt Navratri is also known as Gayatri Ashada Navratri (falls in Ashadha Mas) and Magha Navratri (falls in Magha Mas). This year, Ashadha Gupt Navratri will be observed over nine days, with rituals and pujas dedicated to the Dus Mahavidya goddesses. Gupt Navratri occurs twice a year in the months of Magha and Ashadha, while the main Navratri festival is celebrated during Kartik and Chaitra Month.
