Prof. V. Kamakoti Veezhinathan received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science and Engineering from IIT Madras. He joined the faculty of IIT Madras in 2001 and took over as its Director in January 2022. Tamil Nadu Congress Committee president criticizes IIT Madras Director for promoting cow urine consumption, calls for his removal. Prof. Kamakoti Veezhinathan is currently the Director of IIT Madras. He obtained his Ph.D and M.S in Computer Science and Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Madras. Congratulating Prof. V. Kamakoti on his appointment, former director Prof. Bhaskar Ramamurthi said, “With Prof. Kamakoti at the helm, IIT Madras is poised to scale new heights in the coming years. He is an excellent teacher and researcher, and an able administrator.
