Once known as Pygmalion Point, it was renamed in honor of Indira Gandhi, India’s first female Prime Minister. Indira Point or Pygmalion Point is a village in the Nicobar district of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, India. This place is named by the late P.M. Rajiv Gandhi in 1984. Indira Point is the southernmost point of India's territory, located on Great Nicobar Island in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. It was renamed after Indira Gandhi in 1985 and has a lighthouse, a national park and a coast guard station.
