INSPIRE - MANAK is a DST-NIF initiative to foster innovation and creative thinking among school students in India. It invites students to submit original and creative technological ideas/innovations and provides mentoring, awards and recognition for the best ones. INSPIRE Awards-MANAK, Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research (INSPIRE) scheme is one of the flagship programmes of Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India. The INSPIRE Awards - MANAK (Million Minds Augmenting National Aspirations and Knowledge), being executed by DST with National Innovation Foundation – India (NIF), an autonomous body of DST, aims to motivate students in the age group of 10-15 years and studying in classes 6 to 10. The INSPIRE-MANAK scheme targets ten lakh ideas from more than five lakh middle and high schools across the country every year. Out of these, one lakh ideas are eligible for the INSPIRE Award of Rs. 10,000/- each.
