I came across this subreddit by chance while Googling to see what Jai was up to up. There appears to be some secrecy about the language, so my question is: does enough information exist publicly about Jai 's specs, for somebody else to have a go at creating an implementation? If so, has anyone considered this? Or is the design still in a state ... Jai makes a few interesting decisions. But it's important to consider the very specific niche it's attempting to fill: a replacement for C++ for games. From this perspective, it makes sense: it is a big improvement on C++, but it doesn't do that much new. In my own words, I'll summarize what I consider to be Blow's goals: Compile quickly ("1 million lines of code per second") Produce efficient executables (in particular, avoid hiding things behind mandatory abstractions that make it ... Okay, so i've seen the code floating around for backgrounds and audio players...but now I'm seeing where people have changed the colors of the bot… I have a feeling Jai is the beginning of other things too, like a rise in attention to performance in general as well as maybe a movement towards taking more advantage of hardware. I'm interested in seeing what games I can make and for who and what platforms.
