The November 2024 Jharkhand Assembly Elections , resulting in JMM winning 34 seats, BJP 21, Congress 16, RJD 4, CPI (ML) (L) 2, and AJSUP and LJPRV 1 each, represent a crucial democratic exercise that has shaped the state’s governance trajectory for the next five years. The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha won 34 seats, securing 23.44% of the popular vote and its alliance, Mahagathbandhan (INDIA Bloc) including the Congress, CPI (ML)L and RJD won 56 seats, securing 44.37% of the popular vote. After trailing in the initial rounds, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren's JMM-led INDIA bloc made a stunning comeback and won 56 seats in the 81-member state assembly.
