Kaleshwaram is a holy village located in Mahadevpur Mandal of Jayashankar Bhupalpally district in Telangana. Famous for the historic Kaleshwaram Temple, the village holds immense spiritual significance and is popularly known as the “Second Kashi” or “Dakshina Kashi” (Southern Kashi) of India. Kaleshwaram is the only sacred site in South India where three rivers — Godavari, Pranahita and the subterranean Saraswati — converge and flow together. It is the site of a temple of the Hindu god Shiva. The temple is significant because of the two Shiva Lingas that are found on a single pedestal. These Linga are named Lord Shiva and Lord Yama. Collectively, they known as Kaleshwara Mukteeshwara Swamy. Kaleshwaram is one of three Shiva temples mentioned in Trilinga Desham, or "Land of Three ...
