Link pan with aadhaar: The UIDAI has made it mandatory

The UIDAI has made it mandatory to link Aadhaar with PAN by December 31, 2025. PAN cards not linked by the deadline will be deactivated starting January 1, 2026. For new applicants, linking Aadhaar during PAN registration will be compulsory. PAN Aadhaar link online: As per the CBDT’s notification, all the PAN holders who obtained their PAN using the enrolment ID of their Aadhaar application on or before October 1, 2024, are required to inform their Aadhaar number to the income tax department. Link Aadhaar is a service available to both registered and unregistered users of the e-filing portal to link their PAN , pre-login to the portal, post-login to the portal or to view their Link Aadhaar Status. For new applicants of PAN card, the Aadhaar PAN linking is done automatically during the application stage. For existing PAN holders, who were allotted PAN on or before 01-07-2017 it is mandatory to link PAN with Aadhaar .
