They founded many local marathi and English newspapers.since they were rich,they could afford to hire marathi tutors from other part of India. many goans Christians often work in Mumbai hence they know marathi too many konkani muslims (not goan muslim) who r from konkan part of Maharashtra settled in goa after liberation ,they knew marathi too.
