Nikita's lawyer Vinod Srivastava defended the court's handling of the divorce and child custody case, stating that judicial officer Rita Kaushik acted within legal bounds. According to Atul Subhash, the judge Rita Kaushik laughed when his wife said he should commit suicide if he could not pay the maintenance amount. Subhash blamed harassment by his estranged wife, her family, and the judge as the reason for him taking the extreme step. Atul Subhash, 34, was found hanging at his Bengaluru residence on Monday (December 9). An employee at a Bengaluru-based private company, Subhash left behind a 26-page suicide note in which he accused his estranged wife and her family of having pushed him to take the drastic step.
