Sushma Swaraj was an Indian politician, government official, and prominent member of the Bharatiya Janata Party who served in a variety of legislative and administrative posts at the state (Haryana) and national levels in India. She formally entered politics in 1977 and remained active until 2019. When Sushma Swaraj passed away on August 6, 2019, due to cardiac arrest, India lost one of its most beloved political figures.
