Viduthalai Part 1 (transl. Liberation Part 1) is a 2023 Indian Tamil -language political crime thriller film directed and co-produced by Vetrimaaran under Grass Root Film Company and RS Infotainment. Viduthalai Part 1 is a Tamil period crime-thriller film that was released in theatres on 31 March 2023. The story revolves around Kumaresan (played by Soori) who joins the police force as a driver, but he begins to question the police department’s inhumane practices. Viduthalai Part 1 centers around the conflict between the police department and an activist group striving to protect indigenous people and their resources. Soori plays Kumeresan, a police driver stationed in a sensitive hilly region where the conflict is most intense. Viduthalai : Part 1 Kumaresan, a newly-recruited constable, joins the special task force 'Operation Ghosthunt' to capture Vaathiyar Perumal, the leader of an extremist group, Makkal Padai. However, Kumaresan faces a moral dilemma when he witnesses the extent of police brutality against the villagers in the name of interrogation. 1
